Recent Student Honors
Congratulations, Emma!
Emma studied violin with Lauren Rostek for 5 years, Vanessa Solis for 3 1/2 years and, most recently, with Katherine Smolen. She served as concertmaster of the FRYO Symphonia from 2018 - 2019 and was a member of the PVYO Philharmonic from 2019 - 2022. Emma will major in Science + Linguistics and plans to minor in Music at the University of Illinois this fall. Lauren, Vanessa and Katherine are proud to have shared and contributed to Emma’s musical journey thus far!
Congratulations, Jaclyn!
Jaclyn has studied bass with Lauren Rostek for 6 1/2 years. In 2018, Jaclyn became a member of the Frederick Symphony, where she and Lauren have enjoyed performing together in the bass section. Jaclyn recently completed Associate Degrees in both Biology and Chemistry at Frederick Community College, where she graduated from the Honors College with High Honors. This fall, Jaclyn will attend Purdue University where she will major in Animal Science with a concentration in Pre-Vet Med.
